O’Hare Modernization: Air Quality Assessment and Upgrade H&R Plant, Concourse H&K

Location: O'Hare International Airport, Chicago, IL

O'Hare Modernization ProgramO'Hare Modernization ProgramCCJM provided engineering services to assist in the air quality upgrade for O’Hare’s Heating and Refrigeration Plant.

As a sub-consultant to STV, Inc., CCJM performed a ventilation survey, load calculations, assessment on existing units condition, and design for the replacement of units S-1, S-2, and S-3 and associated return/exhaust fans and electrical work. We performed cooling load calculations and added cooling coil with unique custom modifications to unit S-6 to maintain existing footprint. Also upgraded existing aged pneumatic system to state-of-the-art DDS control system.

For Concourse H&K, CCJM performed load calculations and design for the replacement of a multi-zone air handling unit and associated return/exhaust fan and electrical work located in the penthouse. This project also involved design for temporary units to support airport operations during construction.
