Riverbend Commons Phase 1 is a 90 unit mixed-use Retail/Residential project serving the Western Illinois University off-campus housing needs. Called the “The Mills at Riverbend Commons” it is a brand new luxury student housing community.

The final Riverbend Commons development is envisioned to encompass 1,000 beds of student housing, 150 units of market-rate housing, and 120,000 square feet of commercial and retail spaces within a University Living Learning context. Riverbend Commons is submitted to be the first LEED Neighborhood Development in the IA-IL MSWA.

CCJM was the MEPFP Engineering Consultant for this design build delivery project. CCJM worked in close coordination with Holabird & Root to develop efficient MEPFP systems that met the builder’s budget constraints as well as architectural and schematic MEPFP design criteria.
