PROJECT ENGINEER
Multi-Disciplined Engineering firm seeks a Project Engineer to work in Malcolm Pirnie Inc.’s White Plains, NY Design Services During Construction Section primarily responsible for all shop drawing submittal coordination and review as well as various other design services during construction (construction administration) activities for large treatment plant projects in NYC. Responsibilities include coordinating and performing the review, handling, processing, logging, and tracking of all submittals from receipt, through internal review, and return back to contractors. Other responsibilities include expediting resolution of design and construction issues, including, but not limited to preparing change orders (including scope of work, justifications, cost estimates), reviewing and preparing responses to RFIs, and preparing direction for issuance to Resident Engineer.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Civil or Mechanical preferred
2. 5 - 10 years experience
3. EIT, P.E. license preferred
4. Heavy shop drawing submittal coordination and review experience required
5. Heavy treatment plant experience a plus
6. NYCDEP wastewater plant experience a plus
7. Basic proficiency with MS Office required
8. Knowledge of Primavera Expedition a plus.
9. Strong organizational, communication, and prompt/accurate judgment abilities a must. Must have clear and consistent appreciation for the importance of accurate and timely submittal reviews and the ability to properly apply efforts to satisfy multiple project needs and commitments; excellent time management skills are essential. Must be a self-starter and detail orientated. The ability to mentor entry level staff is a plus.
