One of CCJM’s oldest core business services is Energy and Retrofit Engineering. We provide sustainable solutions for buildings, infrastructure and land development. CCJM is unique in that in addition to high-performance facility design, we also provide comprehensive civil engineering, water resources and environmental compliance services to optimize the use of all energy resources on a project site.
Our clients are advised about strategies to reduce energy consumption and associated facility operational costs, enhance the performance of existing buildings, utilize utility rebates, tax incentives, grants and financing to offset capital costs for green initiatives. We believe that reduction of the carbon footprint, stormwater management and operating efficiencies of the existing building stock is as important to our future as buildings that may be constructed.
CCJM is a national expert in the design and specification of renewable energy systems. We are proud of our work with forward thinking architects, developers and others to engineer facilities that better conserve our natural resources.
Through a collaborative process, our solutions promote energy conservation and long-term cost savings while striking a balance with project constraints, such as budget and schedule. The services we offer include the following:
- Energy Audits and Carbon Footprint Benchmarking
- Energy Modeling
- Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
- Sustainable Building Design (LEED and Energy Star Certification)
- Life Cycle Cost-Benefit Analysis and Estimation
- Measurement & Verification
- Energy Efficiency Grants & Incentives
- Indoor Air Quality Studies
- Renewable Energy Solutions (Solar, Wind, Geothermal)
- Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning
- Power Transmission & Distribution Systems
- Commissioning
Energy Audits
One of the primary services provided by CCJM is a comprehensive Energy Audit, which serves as an essential starting point for increasing building performance and increased energy efficiency. Energy Audits provide building owners with a road map of their asset infrastructure, energy usage and costs.
CCJM can help you incorporate the knowledge gained from your energy audit to upgrade your building and portfolio, identify specific ways to lower your costs, improve efficiency, improve maintenance and operations and IMPROVE YOUR BOTTOM LINE!
We identify Energy Conservations Measures (ECMs) and energy saving potential for the following building systems:Lighting systems
HVAC Systems and Controls
Compressed Air Systems
Renewable Energy Applications
Power Distribution Systems
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Process Systems
Steam Systems
Heat Recovery
Building Envelope Upgrades
Switching Utility Providers or Utility Rates
and more!
Sustainable Building Design
Sustainable design encourages higher building performance by bringing major issues and key participants into the project early in the design process to maximize functionality, constructability and interoperability of all systems. As members of the U.S. Green Building Council, CCJM is intimately familiar with the LEED® Green Building Rating System. We have completed numerous LEED and Energy Star Certified projects and are regarded as leaders in sustainable, integrated building systems design.
There are a variety of green features to consider, including geothermal, displacement ventilation, heat recovery, photovoltaics, underfloor air distribution, occupancy sensors, and daylight harvesting. CCJM has designed each of these systems and more to deliver efficient designs that are cost-effective for our clients.
Our team of professionals combined experience covers each aspect of a project from design through construction. We will provide the Owner and the design team with a well-rounded LEED consultant and commissioning provider that understands the entire process of building procurement from design through operation. Thus, our client retains a sustainable team who can easily adapt and assist the design and construction team in integrating the many sustainable design features efficiently and effectively.
Commissioning
Commissioning is the process of verifying and documenting the performance of a building system and its ability to meet the operational reliability needs of the owner. The primary objective is to optimize the performance of existing buildings within their current configurations. This results in a cost-effective “tune-up for your building”.
CCJM, as the commissioning agent, will develop strategies that ensure a project’s major building systems are properly operated and maintained throughout the life of the building; and that the entire facility runs at optimal efficiency!DID YOU KNOW?… HVAC represents 40% of energy usage in U.S. commercial buildings, according to U.S. Department of Energy statistics. A proper preventive maintenance program and annual commissioning program can provide immediate reductions in energy usage.
CCJM provides total building commissioning, sustainable design and energy expertise. We are a certified third-party commissioning authority by the AABC Commissioning Group. Our comprehensive knowledge of building commissioning addresses building performance, operation and maintenance issues and ongoing operations. We are intimately familiar with ASHRAE , SMACNA and other national commissioning standards.
Whether it is HVAC, power supply, alarms, security systems or building automation, CCJM can assist our clients in maintaining functional systems running at peak efficiency.
Commissioning Projects Include:New Construction
Major Renovations
Re-commissioning and Retro-commissioning Existing Buildings
Continuous Commissioning
LEED Prerequisite and Enhanced Commissioning Services
