Ohare International Airport Modernization Program
Concourse H/K and H&R Plant
CCJM provided engineering services for the replacement of several air handling units, single and mult-zone, associated return/exhaust fans and electrical work.
Runway 4R/22L Rehabilitation
Design of Centerline and Touchdown Zone Lighting Rehabilitation
Scope of Work:
South Airfield Lighting Control Vault
CCJM provided engineering design for the development of a new South Airfield Lighting Control Vault to replace the existing vault which conflicts with the relocation of Runway 10C-28C and taxiway system. This new facility includes power for all existing and proposed runways and pump stations. A new multi-level regulator and city service building with attached 6MW generator building was designed to meet the load.
Typical public projects of this magnitude and complexity require 1 year minimum design effort. Due to the delayed award of contracts, the design team was mandated to complete the design in 6 months.
Part of the services include design of a supervisory monitoring system for all support equipment, pump stations, lighting, cargo tunnel ventilation, lighting and fire protection systems and all miscellaneous manhole pump stations. This system monitors all activity at airport runway systems and interfaces with runway and FAA lighting controls.
