South Campus Development
With 25,000 students, the University of Illinois at Chicago is the largest and most diverse university in the Chicago area. UIC is home to the largest medical school in the United States and is one of the 88 leading research universities in the country. To accommodate the diverse needs of the campus, the university planned a dynamic three-phase redevelopment aiming to revitalize Chicago's South Loop area, integrating the community with the University's academic village. The plan Retail, Student and Private Sector Housing.
- CCJM provided MEP and FP engineering services for several components of the phased construction project.
- Consolidated utility assessment and design for the Master Plan accommodation for phased construction. Utility consolidation and upgrades included gas, electricity, water and sanitary.
- Integrated MEP/FP design for the shell and core adaptive reuse of existing 16,200 sq.ft. building.
- Integrated MEP/FP design for new, 36,000 sq. ft. mixed-use building on north side of Maxwell Street.
- MEP/FP and Security design for 5-story, 102,000 sq. ft. parking garage with 13,000 sq. ft. of retail on 1st floor.
- MEP/FP design for 19,812 sq. ft. adaptive re-use Ambulatory Clinic/Physician Practice Clinic and Office Space at 722 West Maxwell.
- MEP/FP design for 11,000 sq. ft. tenant improvement project.
- MEP/FP design for relocation of two hot dog stands.
- MEP/FP design for 1,000 sq. ft. retail.
