City of Chicago
Department of Construction and Permits (DCAP)
Permit Review Services
DCAP is a newly formed department dedicated solely to encourage development and renovation in the City of Chicago through the issuance of construction permits in order to assure a thorough, professional and more dependable and timely review process.
We looked inside our operation to find ways to expedite the permitting process by working smarter, by finding solutions and by removing obstacles to keep the process moving forward safely," said DCAP then-Acting Executive Director Christopher W. Bushell. In the ensuing solution to outsource some of the permitting services, CCJM was selected to provide professional municipal code compliance review for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing for various medium to large/complex public and private projects located throughout Chicago, including new construction projects and renovation/additions.
The previous permitting process traditionally took up to 6 months. The process now requires a 60 day turnaround for expedited permit reviews. Several of the projects below required CCJM to review on an expedited basis.
