St. Alexander
Parish and School
Palos Heights, Illinois

St. Alexander Parish, located on an approximately 12 acre site in Palos Heights, IL, decided to expand its existing facility in order to satisfy the needs of a growing community.  The original school and church building was completed in 1960 and was expanded several times – once in 1980 for a media center and again in 1989 for a gymnasium.  The rectory was built on the same site, but detached from the school and completed in the 1970s.

Now, CCJM has been selected to design the infrastructure for a new project consisting of new site development and a 19,000 sq. ft. new church and an 18,101 sq. ft. school expansion. The site improvements include rebuilding the existing lot, expanding parking for an additional 150 cars, new parking lot lighting, stormwater management, pedestrian circulation and shrine location. The new school addition will include a two-story slab on grade building containing 11 classrooms and necessary support spaces.  Two of the 11 classrooms will be developed into a science lab and an applied technology/language lab.
